Donation link Corrected--Donate now

Apparently something on my link to Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition goofed up and it was not working.  Here is the corrected link for any of those still trying to donate.  Only two day till we leave for South Bend.  We will continue to accept donations throughout the event but if you want to "ride along" on the top of the car for this amazing trip, make your donations now.  Using the following link to the Pa Breast Cancer Coalition, you can make you donation by credit card.  Over the last few days we have made good progress toward our fundraising goal but are still a few hundred short.  Help us meet our goal and help PBCC help women with breast cancer and help find a cure through research.  Please click on the link below to donate, and don't forget you can also put someones name on in Honor or in Memorial.    https://secure3.convio.net/pbcc/site/Donation2?df_id=1780&1780.donation=form1

One Week to Go, Still Fundraising for Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition

Well it won't be long now.  Next Saturday we will start competing in the Brock Yates One Lap of America.  It has it roots in the original Cannonball run of movie fame and from the 1970's.  The current approach is a more modern legal version in that all the racing is done on the racetracks.  When it's your turn to make your time trial run, you get one lap to reconnaissance the track, which you may or may not have ever seen before.  At the end of the one lap you stop at the start/finish line and in a group of about 5 cars, a car is released about every 10-15 seconds.  You run your 3 competition laps and you are finished for that event.  The overall scoring is 5 points per car, so if you have 70 entrants the fastest car would get 350 points and each car down the speed charts is 5 points less.  The 70th car would get 5 points, as long as they finish or 0 points for a DNF (did not finish).  The class points work similar, if you have 20 cars in a class the first place car gets 100 points and the 20th car gets 5 points, if everyone ran and finished.  Here is a picture of my new race suit, my old one was starting to show some age especially from the fading.

As mentioned before we still need a few more donations for our effort for the Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition.  For any donation of $10 or more we will put your name on a sticker on the car to show your support in the fight against breast cancer and to help provide support for women with breast cancer.  You can mail me your donation, or stop in the store at Jim Roberts West Main Auto at 14 W. Main St. Mount Joy, Pa. 17552 or click on the link below and you can donate using your credit card.  Help spread the word we are way behind on this years fundraising effort.  Don't wait, we will still accept donations after we get back, but if you send your donation in now you get to ride along on the trip on top of the car.  Help in the fight against cancer.

Graphics on the car complete

Mike Snyder of SSC Tint & Graphics in Elizabethtown has finished up the graphics on the Corvette.  We will have a few more logos to put on once we get to South Bend.  Also got Shane's name on the passenger side roof of the car.  I have included a couple pictures of Shane Lintner of Mount Joy, who will be my Transit Driver.  On the second picture he is pointing to the family business ad on the car, Lintners Hillside Bed and Breakfast our newest sponsor.

Don't wait to see me, send your donation in now.  Help in the fight against cancer.

Tires are on/Fundraising continues

The days are clicking away and it won't be long till we leave for South Bend, Indiana to the starting line for our great adventure.  After a few late nights working on the Corvette, the tires are on, the brakes are on and the crankcase has a fresh fill  of oil.  All we need now is a few more donation stickers on the roof. Our fundraising effort to benefit the Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition is a bit behind this year.  I know it is a slow economy for a lot of people but for a donation of as little as $10 we will put you name on the car to show your support for the fight against Breast Cancer.  Think about it, you can help in the fight and also ride along "vicariously" on our amazing adventure at the same time.  Now it's easier than ever to donate. The Pa
Breast Cancer Coalition has set up a secure link where you can donate using a credit card.  We will put your name to show your support, or another name in Memorial to, or in Honor of someone who has dealt with cancer.  The link is

New Transit Driver

Steve Barrett my Transit Driver was in pain with his knees and asked if I could find a replacement partner for  One Lap of America.  We finally were able to fill the position, with Shane Lintner.  Shane is the son of Gary Lintner one of our charter members of the Lancaster County Corvette Club.  Since Shane is the owner of a C5 Corvette coupe, the car should feel familiar to him, although a little more modified than his car.

Also, just a reminder a major part of this effort is our charity, the Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition and we are still appealing for donations and will put a pink sticker on the car for anyone who donates $10 or more now it's easier than ever to donate. The Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition has set up a secure link where you can donate using a credit card.  We will put your name on to show your support, or another name in Memorial to, or in Honor of someone who has dealt with cancer.  The link is  https://secure3.convio.net/pbcc/site/Donation2?df_id=1780&1780.donation=form1
